Revitalisation of the Central Police Station

July 25th, 2012 – Hong Kong - The Central Police Station is in the process of being redeveloped and revitalised as a centre of heritage, arts and leisure. MVA is providing detailed traffic engineering designs consultancy services based in support of the redevelopment and in providing the public with a new and easily accessible cultural heritage site.

Two new buildings, the “Old Bailey Wing” and “Arbuthnot Wing”, will be constructed and added to the existing structure. In addition to the existing public entrance at Pottinger Gate, an Old Bailey Gate, an Arbuthnot Gate and a footbridge connection to the Mid-Levels Escalator are planned.

MVA scope of works included junction modifications and signalised crossings around the area, parking & loading demand study as well as developing detailed temporary traffic management for the proposed improvement works. MVA will assist the Architect to prepare gazette and necessary traffic related documents and plans to the government to facilitate the modification, widening and improvement works of the area.
