Regional Transport Planning
We are highly experienced at region-wide and city-wide transport planning. Typically these studies will start with the detailed analysis of the existing situation (for which comprehensive travel surveys are required and often include traffic counts, household or road/public transport user surveys, Stated Preference Surveys and public transport usage surveys etc.), to develop an understanding of how this will change in the future.
We make use of transport models to assist with this analysis and based on it, we will develop a comprehensive transport strategy or the region/city with typical common objectives of improving mobility and accessibility, public transport services and increasing public transport modal share, providing for safety and environmental quality. At other times the studies may be focused on specific modes or projects such as an inter-urban road or rail network strategy.
Some of the regional transport studies we have been involved include National Roads Development studies across Indonesia, whilst city-wide studies include those of Bandung, Singapore and Kuala Lumpur.
