Vehicular & Pedestrian Simulation Modelling
Microsimulation in the transport context involves the creation of models that simulate the behavior of individual units (motor vehicles / cyclists / pedestrians) within a defined area. These models are used to predict the likely impact of changes in traffic patterns resulting from alterations to traffic flow or changes to the physical environment and are applied to many situations, from small single junctions to extensive road networks.
These models allow us to simulate how congested road junctions may be in the future and what mitigating measures may be employed to help decide whether it is worth spending money on physical changes. Knowing this is especially important to Transport Authorities who are tasked with keeping people moving. We are accomplished practitioners in the use of leading edge analysis technologies and software programs used in the industry.
SYSTRA MVA is fully experienced in the evaluation criteria and modelling methodologies that Transport Authorities rely on during the Traffic Impact Assessment process. We coordinate closely with the Transport Authorities and other relevant stakeholders to demonstrate development proposals are feasible on transport grounds.
Walking as a means of transport is getting more and more widely recognised by transport researchers, government agencies and other stakeholders in recent years. Pedestrian modelling has become more important and relevant as a way to design more convenient, comfortable, economical, safe urban transport environment.
SYSTRA MVA understand the importance of pedestrians’ movement within the target of achieving an efficient and sustaible urbain transport environment. In the recent 5 years, we expanded our pedestrian modelling service to the assessment and design of MRT station, bus interchange, shopping mall, school, etc. We have experienced transport specialists to provide professional pedestrian assessment on various software platforms, especially VISWALK.
In relationship with the pedestrian modelling we are professional participants in various transport planning projects, which including provide innovative modelling skills to seamlessly link with other stakeholders’ design platform. BIM Award 2017 - Gold Plus Award awarded by Building and Construction Authority of Singapore in Year 2017 is one of the representative examples among our successful innovative pedestrian modelling experience.
