PL181 JB-Singapore RTS Link Study - Patronage Forecasting Studies
The Johor Bahru-Singapore Rapid Transit System (RTS Link) is an initiative by the Singapore and Malaysian Governments to improve the connectivity between both countries.
The RTS Link is a rail transit system of approximately 4km in length connecting Woodlands North Station on Singapore side with Bukit Chagar Station on Johor Bahru, Malaysia side. With an estimated 300,000 people crossing the Woodlands checkpoint daily, the RTS Link sets to provide an alternative mode of transport to cross the border, particularly those who currently commute daily utilising the JB-Singapore Causeway.
SYSTRA MVA were engaged by the lead consultant to undertake patronage and revenue forecasting for this proposed rail link from Woodlands North to Bukit Chagar in Johor Bahru. We used extensive survey data to develop a spreadsheet forecasting model for this major project.
