Pedestrian Modelling for KV-MRT Line 2 (SSP Line)
SYSTRA MVA to undertake a Traffic Impact Assessment study (TIA) and construction Traffic Management Plan (TMP) for 8 underground stations.
The MRT SSP Line is the second MRT line to be developed under the Greater Kuala Lumpur Public Transport Master Plan prepared by S.P.A.D. The proposed alignment is 52km of which 13.5km is underground. A total of 36 stations including 11 underground and 25 elevated stations will be built, It starts from Sungai Buloh (interfacing with SBK Line) and ends at Putrajaya.
The new MRT SSP Line is expected to commence full service by 2022 to service a corridor with a population of around 2 million people in Greater Kuala Lumpur. It will not only provide easy and convenient ride to the city centre but also improve the connectivity to boost economic activity. In addition it will provide safe travel to the community.
The major stations were assessed using the VISWALK pedestrian simulation software. We will provide design and layout advice under normal operation conditions and assessment of evacuation scenario by means of pedestrian simulation (VISWALK).
