MVA Supported the Urban Development Project in Changsha Receives First Class Prize

On 18 March 2015, Expert Panel Review meeting was held for the urban design competition of Stage 2 Hu Nan Chang Sha International Exhibition Centre district. MVA Hong Kong and Shenzhen team worked with a German Architectural Firm, ISA on this project. We are responsible for the overall transport planning and design. The urban design received the first prize of the competition.

The site is located in Changsha west of the high speed rail (HSR) station, with the land area of about 280 ha, and GFA 4.7 million sq.m. It belongs to core area of ChangShan ZhuZhou and XiangTan city group. “The development objective is to take advantage of the HSR station hub and the proximity exhibition facilities, and promote business, technology, logistic, residential, cultural and leisure facilities,”said Danny Shek, Technical Director of MVA Hong Kong.

Transport planning and strategy was one of the key component of the design which the Client and the Experts expressed high concern. MVA scope of works included External Traffic Planning and Design, Road Hierarchy Design, Internal Traffic Circulation System Design, Public Transportation Systems Analysis, Traffic Flow Forecasting, Pedestrian System Planning, and VISSIM modelling.
